Rangers vs Roma - Europa League MD4 Preview

Rangers vs Roma
UEFA Europa League
League Stage MD 4

Last but not least tonight is Rangers home tie against Roma at Ibrox as Danny Röhl looks to register his new sides first Europa points of the campaign.

Here's the micro preview...……

TELLY & KO
This one is a 20:00 kick off and it's live on TNT Sports 3 with coverage from 19:45.

PREVIOUSLY
Whilst Rangers currently prop up the Europa table Roma are not in particularly great shape themselves having won 1 and lost 2 of their opening 3 games.

They started off with a win 2-1 win away at Nice but then suffered back to back defeats in Rome as first Lille (1-0) and then Viktoria Plzen (2-1) left the Italian capital with all three points.

They have actually done some of their best work this season on the road, with their defeat in Milan at the weekend ending a run of 8 straight wins away from home in all comps.

LEAGUE FORM
Roma are currently 4th in Serie A with 7 wins and 3 losses from their 10 games to date. They do not tend to score many goals, managing just 10 across those fixtures, with their success being built on a defensive rock that has seen then concede just 5 times which is a league best.

REFEREE
The ref tonight is Morten Krogh from Denmark. He's pretty mild mannered, averaging just over 3 yellows per game this season with 31 cautions in 9 outings. He did show 5 reds in 27 games last season but perhaps he found love over the summer.

BOOKIES
The bookies make the Italians red hot favourites to extend Rangers Europa misery tonight with the visitors a very skinny 8/13  shot. Rangers are a huge 17/4 and the draw is 3/1.

DIVS BONKERS BET
Matías Soulé is Roma's best bet for a shot on target for the visitors and he's also one of their most fouled players so I'll take Derek Cornelius to get a caution this evening too as he's never shy.

Raskin has had shots on goal in every game under Rohl so we will add him in and as a curve ball I'll also throw Souttar in to have a shot too as Rangers will again be dangersous from set pieces and he's obliged in 7 of their last 8 games.

That lot gets us a 12/1 builder.

Very best of luck to Rangers tonight!
